This service is led by John Ireland, who brings extensive international experience in nuclear environmental policy, waste management, and project delivery.
John has held senior technical roles on nuclear new-build projects, including as Chief Engineer in Romania, and has supported project development and strategy across markets such as Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Turkey. His experience also includes leading major waste management initiatives involving toxic and radiological materials in the UK, Japan, and the EU.
John has significant expertise in policy and international engagement, including serving as Chair of the UK Government’s Nuclear Export Group, where he advised on trade and environmental considerations. His broader experience spans fuel supply, transport, and decommissioning, with insight across both nuclear and wider energy markets.
A Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the Institution of Chemical Engineers, John also advises on intergovernmental relations, licensing, and contract matters.
