Practical Guidance for Insurance Buyers Part Two: An essential two hour course for business managers and owners looking for guidance on how to initiate and manage the insurance claim process more effectively.

Overview

In the event that something does go wrong, businesses expect prompt and straightforward support from their insurer. However, as recent cases have highlighted, the claims process can sometimes be drawn out and complicated, and differences in the way that the process is managed can have significantly different outcomes.

Being well prepared can be critical and this two-hour course provides essential guidance for delegates on how to initiate and manage an insurance claim process more effectively, in the event that they ever have to make a claim.

Agenda

The course covers:

  • Understanding the claims process
  • The intermediary role – theory and reality
  • Loss adjustors and advisors
  • Deductibles, excesses, risk sharing and franchises
  • What is covered and policy interpretation
  • Remedies

Who would benefit from attending this course?

The course is designed for managers, employees and business owners who are involved with or responsible for business insurance within their organisations – but who are not insurance specialists.

The practical guidance provided by the course will be immensely valuable to individuals who want to understand:

  • How the claims process works and how to achieve the best outcomes
  • The roles and objectives of the different parties involved in the process
  • Potential obstacles and barriers to the process working quickly and effectively
  • How they can avoid those obstacles and prevent them affecting their claims
  • What they need to do before they start the claims process
  • What they need to do and the questions they need to ask during different stages of the process
  • How to make best use of their brokers and intermediaries during the process

The course may also be relevant to operational employees who are regularly involved in preparing information for insurance claims.
